CLEVELAND, OH (AP)- The 1973 Miami Dolphins headed to Cleveland to

face off against the 1972 Browns in the first ever CFL regular season game using SAT Football. The Dolphins looked to be in trouble since they were missing star halfback Mercury Morris. In his place kick returner Charlie Leigh had 78 rushing yards on 7 carries to compliment fullback Larry Csonka. The Dolphin offense was conservative all day and played mistake free football. Miami's biggest offensive weapon was Croatian sidewinder Garo Yepremian, who kicked 5 filed goals. The Browns opened the scoring with a field goal from Don Cockroft. Cleveland scored the only TD of the day as QB Mike Phipps tossed an 11 yarder to TE Milt Morin, which at the time cut Miami's lead to 2 (12-10). The No-name defense clamped down on the Browns and never allowed another scoring opportunity the rest of the way. Miami won
15-10 in a very close defensive oriented contest.
