LEAGUE OFFICE (AP)- The game has changed, but the competition stays the same. The CFL, founded in 1985, has moved to it's 3rd computer simulation platform in 22 years.
The CFL began 22 years ago in the den of Marc Weiss' house in Brooklyn, NY in a neighborhood known as Canarsie. While none of the league members still live in that long forgotten, but always cherished neighborhood the memories live on.

In 1985 we began play with Lance Haffner's 3-in-1 Football game. It was a fantastic piece of software for it's time. Unfortunately for us Lance found God and God had no time for football. Without an updated game and the ability for internet play the CFL folded in the mid-90's. In 2003 the CFL was brought back to life when Andy Weinrib found Action PC Football. For the past 4 years we have played online using the Action PC platform.
Over the past 4 years the CFL has expanded to add internet players from all over the country. What was once a neighborhood league has now become a true national entity. As the league has grown, so have our needs. Action Football was a great tool, but the league needed a newer game that emphasized real life results and did not have an "hidden game engine".
Second and Ten, by Roogames offers the CFL a better fit. When Roo games announced that it was adding internet play to the game we decided to test it and compare it to Action. Our opinion is that it produces justifiable results that can be matched to dice rolls and play charts. Simulated season posted results truly reflective of the actual outcomes and not which team had the best offense. League members were also excited to know that the software purchase was a one time event that includes free upgrades and every NFL season from 1950-Present. Roo games also partnered with the league to offer us a 20% group discount as a sign of good faith.
